Enrichment & Clubs

VSL students have a rich, broad, and diverse experience in the arts, sports, and physical activity. We are fortunate that our ACE (arts, culture and exercise) teacher has a diverse range of expertise in the performing arts and one of our older elementary school teachers has a broad range of experience in visual arts. Over the past few years, we’ve expanded the breadth and depth of extracurricular experience by inviting local experts in to teach their particular discipline over the course of a six-week period. Some of the enrichment opportunities may include karate, soccer, gymnastics, dance, band, choir, woodworking, painting, and crafting. In addition, all of our students take lessons in at least one if not two other languages.  

Clubs are based on child interest and take place after school. They are taught by teachers, parents, volunteers, or experts in the area of interest. Thus far we have had a Minecraft club, lego art club, aeronautics club, and an Olympic games club.

Student Government

While creating the ways in which our government function, Village School of Louisville's students decided to have a democratic system of government. This means officials will be elected to represent the student body as a whole through elections, which are a vital part of American society. Voting is a right that we should all be proud of, and through Village School's student government students will learn the importance of voting and how it can shape our community just as it shapes who we are as Americans.

After School Clubs

We offer enrichment and/or clubs on Mondays through Thursday from the end of the school day until pick up between 5-5:15 pm. Some students stay after school Mondays through Thursdays to participate in after school enrichment activities. These activities are varied and have included such activities as Creativity Club with a teen hang out, comic book drawing, Dungeons and Dragons, social gaming, karate, and dance. After-school enrichments change each learning block at VSL so students can experience a wide range of activities and parents can know their children have a quality after-school program until work ends for parents.
