Where joyful learning happens

We are your village.

Children learn best when their education is joyful, filled with information relevant to them and their communities, engaged in hands-on learning, and the child and whole family is supported. We are building that educational community.

For decades, schools in Finland have continually produced highly achieving and well-balanced students thanks to common-sense practices, flexibility, and a focus on the whole-child—who is taught to enjoy learning instead of merely passing tests.

We, the founders of The Village School of Louisville, believe that—with your family—we will build a successful, Finnish-inspired education for children in grades Junior Kindergarten-12th. We added 10th grade for the 2024-2025 school year and a HS grade each year until we offer K-12th grades.

Our world is changing rapidly, and we must prepare our children for a new one—a knowledge-based economy steeped in gender, racial, and economic equity. The future is theirs, and we must foster their innate flexibility and love of learning while supporting the health and well-being of not only our students but their families and communities as well. Education should be inspiring and exciting and we will find ways to challenge and engage without unnecessary stress.
